Why a Bermuda Cruise?

Bermuda is a stand out destination that gives you the
best of both world. Cruising plus plenty of time on shore

Mention the phrase "Bermuda cruise" and Lindsay Malmberg's mind immediately returns to her honey moon with Derek.

"When I think back to our Bermuda cruise words like 'elegant' and 'charming' pop in my head to describe the experience," Malmberg said. A mere spec in the Atlantic Ocean, it's truly a secluded paradise. No wonder it's been such a popular cruise destination. For decades now.

Lindsay added, "How can you beat perfect weather? Plus a slew of things to do when on shore. From pink sand beaches, to picturesque, pastel-colored colonial homes, to very friendly people eager to please." Throw in it's close proximity to many major cities on the Eastern seaboard and you can quickly see why memories of a classic Bermuda cruise are so often cherished.

A number of cruise lines ply Bermuda waters. Docking in one of three primary dockyards. Bigger ships have to use King's Wharf. While smaller, cozier sized ships can navigate the narrow channels and set up shop in either Hamilton or St. George. Putting cruisers from those liners front and center to where the action is. Right off the gang plank so to speak. Although Bermuda has top flight public transportation. Comprised of a fleet of buses, taxis, and ferries that make is easy to get from port to port. Even if your cruise ship has dropped anchor in King's Wharf.

"The Bermuda cruise Derek and I did departed from Cape Liberty - which is in New Jersey. It was a mere two hour drive from our condo," reported Lindsay. "So we didn't have to hassle with airline check throughs and other 'issues' associated with air travel since 9/11."

"We also really liked the idea of splitting time at sea with plenty of time ashore to take in the sights, sounds and drink in the experience that is Bermuda."

"We readily agreed," Malberg added, "with the cruise exec who said that Bermuda's location, history and natural beauty make a Bermuda cruise unique. Unlike any other cruising vacations you can take in this hemisphere really. The fact you can start out with a road trip rather than being wanded in the airport makes it especially attractive. "

Another thing to like about a Bermuda cruise is the varied shore excursions available. Which pretty much require no input from the cruise line. Everything from snorkeling, to jet skis, to self guided scooter tours with magnificent secluded beaches and coral reefs teeming with fish and other reef life as the destination.

Malmberg pointed out another plus. "You can use the cruise ship as your base camp. Eating meals onboard or not while docked. Sleeping onboard. And in some cases enjoying nightly entertainment as well. Saving you the considerable expense of lining up accommodations on shore. Which were surprisingly pricey actually"

Or you can stroll the city at night or take a romantic buggy ride under the Caribbean moon.

"What's that? Would we go again?. In a heartbeat. Maybe for our fifth anniversary we'll make a return visit,." Lindsay added with a wistful smile.
